September 13, 2006 – A new product on the market kills mold, prevents it from coming back and uses all-natural ingredients.

"When our salespeople demonstrate the product, they often spray a little bit on their hand and lick it off," said Siamons International president Eric Green. "It's completely safe."

According to Green, Concrobium Mold Control is made from food-grade additives that physically seal, or crush, the mold. The product forms a thin, polymeric film that prevents regeneration.

"Rather than using toxins - like the chemicals found in bleach, chlorine or ammonia - our product uses a mechanical method to kill mold," Green said.

The product is applied on moldy surfaces and allowed to dry. Depending on the type of mold, it will either disappear or change colors. If it's a stubborn mold stain, homeowners can clean the area again to remove the stain using the same product. The residue will form a long-term barrier against mold.

Concrobium Mold Control has only been available to the public for a few months. It's been tested and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, meaning it contains what it says and will do what it promises.

"We're really trying to educate Floridians, who constantly battle mold because of the warm and humid environment. We've got a lot of customers who love it because they can't stand bleach fumes," Green said. "And, they're tired of cleaning the same spots again and again. Just because the surface is white after it's cleaned with bleach, doesn't mean mold won't grow back in three weeks."

Concrobium Mold Control is available at Home Depot, usually next to the paint or cleaning supplies.
