November 13, 2007 – Mold Makes Us Manic-Depressive
So here's how to get rid of it.
Mold is enough to make you react with a smidgen (or more) of mania. You rip up wallpaper or yank down drywall — and there it is in all its malevolence! MOLD!!!
You become wild with activity, a noble knight against these evil invaders. But they're legion in number — they're everywhere! Multiplying like mad in your kitchen, basement and attic! Lurking behind that blue tile on your bathroom, inches from your innocent toothbrush! You realize that the tile is, in effect, the "thin blue line" between you and certain peril. Your mania turns to depression.
Don't get down. Get rid of the stuff. First, read "Mold No More," which explains how to control moisture and, therefore, control mold.
Then use Concrobium (see "Mold Control" below). You just gotta give it up for a product that kills mold and still is "green." So green that Concrobium salespeople lick their product to show it is possible to do the job without doing in the planet. Now, Concrobium President Eric Green (there's a name that makes you believe in predestination) doesn't recommend drinking his product, and there will never be a Cranberry Concrobium. But it beats using toxic, bleach-based products that, unlike Concrobium, only work short-term and after the mold is established. "Some mold-care products are more toxic than the problem itself," says Green.

Concrobium
MSRP: $39.99 for 1 gallon
Online Rating: ********** (10/10)
Concrobium is non-toxic, consisting of food-grade salts that create a film that encapsulate mold spores. According to Concrobium President Eric Green, the film puts pressure on mold cells, causing them to burst. What’s more, new mold cells cannot attach to a treated surface because treatment removes a surface electrical charge. “Spores need that electrical charge to land and feed and grow,” says Green.
You spray Concrobium on existing mold colonies and let it dry. There is no bleach or peroxide, so there will not be staining or whitening, says Green. You can also use a fogger to apply Concrobium to a large area during construction or a remodeling project.
Green says that, while there are several mold-control products already on the market, Concrobium is the one you won’t have to re-apply because it kills the entire mold organism the first time. “With other products, you may have to re-spray every two weeks because they kill off the top of the mold, the ‘flowers,’ if you will, but not the roots. So, people keep buying more and more of the product.” Concrobium, 866-811-4148. www.concrobium.com — Gary Legwold
