Where is your Mold?

How to Remove Mold in the Attic

BackBack

Attics are humidity traps and leak-prone, which often results in mold.

Improper ventilation, cracks or broken roofing materials frequently cause mold and mildew build-up in attics. Eliminate mold and musty odours in your attic, easily and safely with Concrobium Mold Control

Concentrated Mold

For small scale mold problems on drywall, rafters, flooring and other attic surfaces, please use the following instructions:

  1. Using a spray bottle or garden sprayer, apply a thin, even application of Concrobium Mold Control to moldy drywall, rafters, flooring and other attic surfaces.
  2. Allow to dry completely. As the solution dries it kills any existing mold and fungus.
  3. Clean the surface with a Concrobium-dampened cloth or brush. If mold residue remains, paint the surface or take other cosmetic steps as required. For severe black mold staining, try our Concrobium Mold Stain Eraser
  4. As a final step, reapply Concrobium to mold-vulnerable surfaces to help resist re-infestation.

Attics are prone to mold problems due to high humidity and leaks. Be sure to address the source of leaks and humidity problems in your attic, to control moisture levels and prevent future mold growth.

Widespread Mold

For widespread mold in the attic, use a cold fogger to treat the entire area. Foggers mist Concrobium Mold Control throughout the attic and coat all surfaces with a thin, even layer to eliminate mold and musty odours, and prevent regrowth.

For more information, visit our fogging instruction page.

NOTE: Using the fogger to spray surfaces directly from a short distance may lead to over-application, and is not recommended.

Testimonials

  • I rented a cold fogger from Home Depot, bought a bucket of Concrobium Mold Control and in a very short time had fogged the entire attic, including the hard to get spaces. My mold problem was fixed and it was EASY. I highly recommend Concrobium Mold Control and have had the opportunity to recommend it several times.”
